Over the last several years some ideas about innovation have progressed in the concepts of Design Thinking, Lean Startup, and Agile. What I love about these ideas is that we have to be able to constantly adapt to the world around us. Our organizations need to be flexible enough that when unforeseen bumps come in the road, we can quickly innovate and come up with new ideas.
So now that we have aligned our organization with the Hero's Journey Model, we can start to figure out what new interventions need to be created to help out where we are stuck.
Enter, the Hero Centered Design Model. Our members are at the center of the model and we always refer back to them when we are coming up with new ideas.
After teaching an Innovation and Design Thinking class, I like the idea of Buckets- Insights, How might we?, What if?, Test, Iterate, Scale or Pivot. Ideas for each of these areas can flow at any time regardless of where you are in the process. Then you can add your ideas to that area.
What areas do you need to innovate in your organization's Hero's Journey? What challenges or bumps do you need to find interventions for? Do you have a process for innovation?
